MOTHER MAYHEM: Welcome to a very special edition of our roundtable series. I’m Praetor Tilman, though most of you know me as Mother Mayhem, and today I’m joined by Dr. Cassandra Nexus, Carl Breitholtz, also known on X as @Intussusceptor, and the ever-energetic Anna Forrest. We’re going to talk about a prophecy that came true—the stock market crash that Cassandra predicted in Episode 24 of Catastrophe Chronicles, released on March 9th. Since then, the NASDAQ has dropped 15% since its March 25th peak, and 22% from its February 19th peak. Cassandra, let’s start with you.
CASSANDRA NEXUS:
The signs were everywhere. Overvalued AI stocks, unsustainable P/E ratios, reckless fiscal policy, geopolitical instability—all woven together in a fragile economic tapestry. The market wasn’t just frothy—it was inflated beyond reason. I simply connected the dots.
MOTHER MAYHEM:
And those dots hit hard. Carl—sorry, Intussusceptor—you didn’t just agree with Cassandra, you acted. Tell us about that.
CARL BREITHOLTZ / @INTUSSUSCEPTOR:
I did. Cassandra’s analysis aligned with what I was seeing. I reduced my exposure to U.S. markets from 50% to 30%, selling 40% of my American stocks. I held most of that in cash and moved some to European equities—less vulnerable to Trump’s trade madness. I’m not unharmed, but the damage was blunted.
Now, I’m planning to reinvest that cash into European stocks, spacing it out over four Mondays, 25% each week. You don’t win long-term by panicking, but you don’t survive long-term by ignoring warnings either.
MOTHER MAYHEM:
Anna, I know you’re usually more focused on muscle and mindset than market mechanics—but you’ve got thoughts?

ANNA FORREST:
Oh, I’ve got thoughts alright. Believing that tariffs produce wealth is like believing that a kick in the balls produces babies. This idea that economic pain somehow builds national greatness is just populist poison. Trump’s trade war isn’t just dumb—it’s self-harm. And Cassandra called it early.
MOTHER MAYHEM:
And you weren’t even angry when you said that. Impressive restraint.
(Laughter.)
But Cassandra—before we close out, I know you’ve been researching the next threat. You care to tease Episode 25?
CASSANDRA NEXUS:
Let’s just say the next episode isn’t about economics—it’s about biology. What if a lab mistake led to the release of something we’ve never encountered before—a microbial mirror lifeform, incompatible with known biology, triggering disease outbreaks and mass crop failures?
MOTHER MAYHEM:
Gosh, I hope you won’t get right about that thing too…
