Why You Should Avoid Alcohol While Battling the New Covid Variant

Christine SchĂĽrrer appears unaffected by the new Covid variant

Attention all partygoers and beach bums in Tenerife! Before you reach for that pint or cocktail, listen up. The new Covid variant is wreaking havoc on our beautiful island, and the last thing you want to do is make things worse for yourself. That’s right, as tempting as it may be to let loose and drown your worries in alcohol, it’s time to put down that drink and prioritize your health.

You see, even small amounts of alcohol can significantly weaken your immune system, making it harder for your body to fight off the virus. And with this new variant being more contagious and aggressive than its predecessors, our immune systems need all the help they can get. So don’t sabotage your body’s defense system by drinking alcohol while you’re ill.

But that’s not all. Consuming alcohol while battling the virus also increases the risk of inflammation and long-term complications. As if dealing with Covid wasn’t bad enough, do you really want to add potential health issues to the mix? I don’t think so.

And for all you gym enthusiasts out there, here’s another reason to stay away from alcohol – it affects your physical performance. So if you want to resume your intense weightlifting workouts as soon as possible, skip the drinks until you’re completely recovered and cleared by a doctor.

Stay sober until you’re well enough to go to the gym

In a nutshell, my friends, the message is simple – stay sober until you’re well enough to hit the gym again. Your health and safety should always be a top priority, especially in these uncertain times. Don’t let alcohol be the reason you prolong your recovery or put your health at risk.
