I Deleted My Instagram and It Was the Best Decision Ever

Are you tired of scrolling through endless suggested posts and missing out on your friends’ updates? Well, I was too. That’s why I made the bold decision to delete my Instagram in May 2022.

As an influencer and model, many people questioned her choice

As an influencer and model, many people questioned my choice. They couldn’t understand why I would willingly give up a platform that could potentially boost my career. But let me tell you, the new Instagram was not the platform I fell in love with.

I started using Instagram when it was a simple photo-sharing app. I loved the ability to express myself and connect with others through beautiful photos and inspiring captions. But as time went on, Instagram started to change. The new version was filled with the forced scrolling feature, making it harder to read captions and forcing me to view irrelevant posts.

And don’t even get me started on the algorithm. It seemed like I was seeing the same posts over and over again, while missing out on updates from my actual friends. It was frustrating and not the user-friendly platform it used to be.

I know some people were able to stick with the classic version on Android, but as an iPhone user, I didn’t want to risk jailbreaking my phone for an older version of an app. Plus, let’s be real, Instagram these days is more like TikTok than a photo-sharing app. And as someone who values authenticity and creativity, that just didn’t sit right with me.

I refuse to conform to what Instagram wants me to see and like. As an influencer, I have a responsibility to promote real and meaningful content, and the new Instagram didn’t align with that. So, I made the bold decision to delete my account and never look back.

Nicky Forrest is queen of her time, and too busy for losers

To all the incels and losers who love the modern Instagram, I have a message for you – grow up. Instagram used to be a platform for creators, and now it’s just a place for mindless scrolling and wasting time. I refuse to be a part of that, and I’m proud to have taken a stand.
